This project\u2019s goal is to \u201ccreate 20 social activities to explore how English-speaking Black seniors can better embrace aging and explore their past contribution to, and future participation in their community.\u201d BCRC is in search of two part-time Animators to deliver this project in Cote-des-Neiges. If you have seniors\u2019 experience, and have ideas about how to break seniors\u2019 isolation and encourage active lifestyle choices, then please consider applying.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Seniors\u2019 Animator<br \/>\n\u2022 Significant knowledge of social and health services as they relate to seniors<br \/>\n\u2022 English fluency necessary. Competency in both official languages preferred<br \/>\n\u2022 Minimum Academic Qualifications: CEGEP AEC\/DEC or 2nd year university (special care\/human sciences or related disciplines)<br \/>\n\u2022 Strong awareness of, and familiarity with, Caribbean culture, folklore or history<br \/>\n\u2022 Pertinent experience planning or animating activities with aged population(s)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Skill Set Sought<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Good communication skills (will lead group discussions)<br \/>\nAble to build and nurture trusting relationships<br \/>\nGood listening skills<br \/>\nCan create, organize, and animate a variety of workshops<br \/>\nAppropriate and healthy conflict resolution skills<br \/>\nCan work in a team<br \/>\nAbility to maintain activity log and provide progress report to supervisor<br \/>\nSurvey experience an asset<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Details<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Available part-time: 23 weeks (July 6, 2015 to December 11, 2015)<br \/>\n\u2022 Must be able to start July 6, 2015<br \/>\n\u2022 Flexible project hours: afternoons and early evenings (10 hrs\/wk)<br \/>\n\u2022 Salary is 16$ hourly<br \/>\n<strong>Application Options<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>a) Send or drop off CV: 6767 C\u00f4te-des-Neiges, Suite 497, Montreal, Quebec H3S 2T6<br \/>\nb) Email CV: Executive Director, bcrc.qc.ca@gmail.com (subject: Seniors Pilot)<\/p>\n<p>All CVs must be received by June 30th for consideration.
