Supervision, training and<br \/>\nmentorship will be provided by Rachel McCrum, QWF Communications and Membership Coordinator, and Lori<br \/>\nSchubert, Executive Director. The job would particularly suit someone interested in arts management and\/or<br \/>\ncommunications, and would provide invaluable career\u2010related experience.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Start date: ***10 June, 2019 TBC***<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Length of contract: 8 weeks<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Hours: 30 hours a week, to be spread over 4 days (10am \u2013 530pm)<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Salary: $12.50 an hour<br \/>\nPrimary responsibilities<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Compile, assemble, and send out the monthly QWF e\u2010newsletter detailing upcoming opportunities,<br \/>\nsubmissions deadlines, residencies etc.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Prepare and disseminate e\u2010communications and social media updates for the QWF, maintaining a<br \/>\nprofessional and engaging tone throughout.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Update the news feed on the QWF Website by researching and creating relevant news articles, and<br \/>\ninterviewing at least 2 local authors\/QWF Members to create original content.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Update the QWF contacts database to input information on community and outreach groups, and other<br \/>\nspecial interest groups, and to undertake some reporting on these groups.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Organize and upload the zine content from the Writers in the Community project with at\u2010risk youth in<br \/>\norder to disseminate and promote this creative work.<br \/>\nRequirements<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Must be aged 15 to 30 (please note: the funding is no longer contingent on the successful applicant<br \/>\nbeing a student.)<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been<br \/>\nconferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Must have a valid Social Insurance Number and be entitled to work in Canada in accordance with<br \/>\nrelevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Must have an excellent command of written English, and conversational French for telephone.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Must be able to work autonomously to organize and prioritize tasks.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Must demonstrate an ability to write, edit and proofread your own documents for accuracy and correct<br \/>\nspelling, grammar, and punctuation.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Experience with Facebook and Twitter.<br \/>\nAdditional assets<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Experience with Mailchimp, WordPress, and Salesforce.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Familiarity and enthusiasm for Quebec\u2019s English\u2010language literary scene.<\/p>\n<p>How to apply<br \/>\nPlease send the following two separate Word or PDF attachments to Rachel McCrum (QWF Membership<br \/>\nand Communications Coordinator) at rachel@qwf.org:<br \/>\n\uf0b7 one\u2010page (maximum) letter of interest, clearly stating why you would be a valuable addition to the<br \/>\nQWF team and what experience you\u2019ve had that qualifies you for the above\u2010described position.<br \/>\n\uf0b7 c.v. of relevant experience, professional and\/or volunteer<br \/>\nDeadline for applications: Midnight, Tuesday May 14, 2019.<br \/>\nSelected candidates must be available for interview on Thursday 23 May or Friday 24 May, 2019.<br \/>\n*<br \/>\nQWF actively seeks to maximize diversity in its staff, part\u2010time employees, membership and direction.<br \/>\nWe welcome applications from all qualified individuals and encourage applicants from members of the<br \/>\nGovernment of Canada\u2019s employment equity groups (i.e. women, Aboriginal peoples, persons with<br \/>\ndisabilities, and visible minorities) to self\u2010identify if they are comfortable doing so.<\/p>\n<p>This position is funded by the Government of Canada.
